Bramble and Bear Veterinary Care is a veterinary clinic that, based on its own site, offers consultations (including at-home consultations) and end-of-life care, and also functions as a veterinary nurse training facility. Reviews describe a practice that handles both routine and urgent presentations—examples include overnight care for a dog with a blockage, support for cancer comfort care, and a case where an eye ulcer improved without immediate surgery after discussing other options.

Owner experiences are mostly very positive, but there is a sharp conflict around out‑of‑hours home euthanasia: one recent reviewer says they were refused despite believing their situation matched the clinic’s “exceptional circumstances” wording, while another reviewer describes being seen immediately and supported through an in‑practice euthanasia.

Never heard of this place before but after my dog had a blockage and we had seen another well known vets, who had no empathy for us or our dog we were recommended to try Bramble and Bear by two different people. Wow what can I say, from the first phone call they were so helpful and kind, the vets is more like a luxury spa than a vets, it’s beautiful!! They took our Hugo over night and treated him like their own, such kind and caring people and our boy is back to his normal self now thanks to them and half the price of the previous vets we used…..definitely recommend 100%!!!!

I called them out of hours recently, desperate for someone to come out to euthanise my boy as he'd gone into respiratory distress and was suffocating in front of me. They refused, said they couldn't do it but their website notes that they will perform home visits OOH in exceptional circumstances. I feel like an animal suffocating to death should've been dealt with as exceptional but apparently not. He gasped for breath for an hour after that. I watched as his gums turned pale, his eyes began to sink - dents forming across the surface, he made little grunting noises, utterly terrified, desperate for salvation. I felt helpless because he wasn't deemed an "exceptional circumstance", he wasn't stable enough to transport. By the time i finally managed to get Dignipets to come out, it was too late. They were too far, with limited appointments. It was a harrowing experience which my baby boy didn't deserve. If you're not willing to offer the service, don't advertise it on your website. Furthermore, I tried to register with them a few years ago, when they were setting up their physical clinic. Was told that they weren't accepting new clients but would add me to a waiting list. I never heard back but did receive two texts requesting payment, not entirely sure what for. **in response to rubbish reply** I’m not sure where you got that my pet was a “cat” from — this appears to be a generic copy-and-paste response. I also did not receive any follow-up contact from your practice. I have checked my call history thoroughly. I have now located the two payment request links sent shortly after my original call. When opened, they led to a £20 registration page. This link was sent shortly after I was told you were not accepting new clients and that I would be added to a waiting list. At no point was I advised to expect a payment link, nor that payment was required simply to be placed on a waiting list. It is not reasonable to assume a client would infer this from an unexplained text message which simply noted "open link to make secure payment" - which I ignored in view of it looking very much like a scam. While I understand you had no legal obligation to attend a non-client, the RCVS places strong emphasis on clear client communication and on taking reasonable steps to prevent animal suffering. Given that I clearly explained I had been on your waiting list for 18 months, this should have indicated an administrative or communication failure. You could've pointed me to the payment link which I would've actioned right then and there had I know that this was required. Lowered rating as your reply only proves frustrating.

Amazing vets, always accommodating with my two dogs, recently had to bring out little puppy in as she wasn’t very well and they took her in with no problem, when iv sprung our other dog on them in appointments when I had a slight worry they have never said no, and last year my old dog got diagnosed with cancer and they were amazing with us to keep him comfortable always on the end of the phone !

Cannot recommend these guys enough, we had our cat looked after when it was just Hannah Matt and Anna and the compassion and care they gave us was second to none, we have since had a dog and even though it is a 20 minute journey for us there is no practice I would rather take our dog to. Whether you get seen by Hannah, Matt, or any of the wonderful team, they all provide outstanding care, and genuinely care about your pets. Can’t recommend this practice and its team enough

Our puppy has been registered since we had him, no issues whatsoever. Our older dog suddenly became unwell, not registered with them. We called and were told to bring her straight down. Saw her immediately and offered such kind and compassionate care, sadly she had to be put to sleep but the practice were so professional and caring during what was a horrible couple of hours. Absolutely fantastic to see her immediately and offer such incredible care.

It has been 1 month for Bengo. (23/7/25) (We miss him so much) This place is Exceptional. The staff are friendly and compassionate. They explain everything to you so you know what is happening. They give you options and don't rush you to make a decision. If you don't believe in angels, they work here. I would fully recommend the Bramble & Bear. Thankyou.

I visited bramble and bear got initial advice when our dog Zeus had gotten an ulcer on his eye, our existing Vet’s had recommended surgery early doors with no real promise of there being any positive outcome and were suggesting he could lose his eye. Bramble and bear were reassuring that there is more we can do before we go down that route, within a couple of months Zeus was back to his normal self. If you’re looking for a Vets that doesn’t represent the norm and you just want good, honest and affordable service from genuinely nice people this is the place tor your Pet. Thanks a lot to the team.

Visited for the first time with my very fearful rescue cat yesterday. Dr Iona was wonderful and very patient despite my cat being very spicy. She was very honest and although we have a long journey ahead with Lily, and she's a tough nut to crack, I'm confident I've found the right vet for us. Thank you for helping me do the best for her!

We had our first vet visit today! Super friendly staff! Our frenchie didn’t want to leave- he was crying outside the door to be let back in haha the set up is very nice as well doesn’t feel like a doctors office so definitely a more relaxing atmosphere for the pet when they enter! We also got to meet some farm animals on the way out which was a very wholesome experience :)
